Vallalar presents God here
not as the ruler of only one particular world or religious realm, but as the
fundamental source behind all levels of existence. Higher divine beings, their
powers, countless universes, individual worlds, living beings, bodies, senses,
minds, experiences, liberation and spiritual powers all receive their ability
to exist and function from the One Divine Reality.
Thus, from the highest state
to the lowest, from the vast universe to the smallest living being, there is
ultimately one underlying Divine Source.

Detailed English Meaning:
Here, “space” does not
merely mean physical empty space. Vallalar moves from material space to
increasingly subtle states of consciousness: the space of the elements, the
space of material manifestation, the great silent space beyond speech,
Para-space, the unifying space, subtler consciousness-spaces and finally the Natural
True Space of Grace-Bliss. These are not separate gods. They represent progressively
subtler levels of manifestation and experience, while the One Divine Reality
remains the foundation of them all.
Detailed English Meaning:
For anything to be known or manifested
there must be “illumination.” Vallalar says that the ultimate source of this
illumination—from physical elements and material forms to mind, consciousness
and the highest spiritual principles—is the Divine.
This Light operates both
outwardly and inwardly. Yet God is not merely one particular form of knowledge
or light. He is the Natural, Self-existing Light from which all other
forms of illumination receive their ability to shine.

Detailed English Meaning:
Vallalar describes a
hierarchy of happiness. It begins with pleasures received through the senses,
mind and worldly life. It then rises to the happiness of the soul, the joy of
knowledge, the bliss of Truth, liberation and finally the incomparable bliss of
direct realization of Ultimate Reality. All limited forms of happiness are
therefore only lesser expressions of the one fundamental Divine Bliss. God's
own Bliss does not depend upon external objects or circumstances; it is natural,
self-existing and permanent.

Detailed English Meaning:
The central idea is the
simultaneous immanence and transcendence of God. The Divine is present
as everything, but is never exhausted by anything that appears.
No word, concept, state of consciousness
or philosophical definition can completely contain Him. He is infinitely vast
and infinitely subtle, present even beyond the reach of the finest conceivable
entity.
6
Detailed English Meaning:
Vallalar presents God as the
Awareness behind awareness. Sensory knowledge, intellectual knowledge,
learned knowledge and spiritual knowledge are all secondary. For any of them to
operate, there must first be a fundamental consciousness capable of knowing.
The Divine is that deepest,
self-existing consciousness—not learned or manufactured, but naturally and
eternally aware. Beyond even Turiya, this pure consciousness shines as Suddha
Siva.

Detailed English Meaning:
The Divine completely
pervades universes, individual bodies, beings, matter and space. Infinite
manifestations can arise without exhausting or altering the Divine. Yet God is
not simply the sum of everything that exists. He also transcends all manifested
divisions as the indivisible Infinite and as the Unique Reality beyond even our
idea of infinity.
8
Detailed English Meaning:
From the gross five elements
to the subtlest spiritual principles, everything arises from the Divine. God is
therefore not merely another link in the chain of causes; He is the Source
of causation itself.
Although He manifests
through forms, principles and qualities, He is not confined by any of them. At
the deepest level He is pure Consciousness—Chit alone.
9
Detailed English Meaning:
Even the light of the sun,
moon and innumerable stars is only a tiny expression of Divine Light. The
Divine does not merely illuminate things from outside; He pervades their
interior, exterior and what lies beyond both. God is therefore not one physical
light located somewhere in the universe. He is the beginningless and endless Supreme
Light of Consciousness within which all other lights appear.
10
Detailed English Meaning:
Vallalar lists many levels
of bliss recognized in different spiritual paths: sensory bliss, philosophical
bliss, Yogic bliss, Jnana bliss, soul-bliss, supreme bliss, Brahman-bliss,
peaceful bliss, bliss of Oneness, non-dual bliss, Sat-Chit-Ananda and Suddha-Siva
bliss.
He then points beyond
treating any single one as the final limit. All these are streams from a deeper
fountain of harmonious Divine Bliss, which he calls the Samarasa
Ananda Sabha—the state in which all distinctions are harmonized in the One
Divine Reality.

Detailed English Meaning:
Every event requires many
conditions: form, qualities, action, instruments, supporting instruments,
place, time and causes. Vallalar says that the Divine is the ultimate
foundation enabling all these factors to function. Yet the key idea is: He
becomes all these and yet is not confined to any of them. God manifests
through the universe without being reduced to the universe.

இந்தப் பாடலில் வள்ளலார் இறைவன் எதிலிருந்து விடுதலையானவர் என்பதைச் சொல்கிறார். பாசம் இல்லை, பிறப்பு இல்லை, இறப்பு இல்லை, மாற்றம் இல்லை, களங்கம் இல்லை, தீமை இல்லை, குறை இல்லை. நமக்கு ஆசை ஏற்படுவது நம்மிடம் ஏதோ ஒன்று இல்லாததால். ஆனால் எல்லாம் உடைய இறைவனுக்கு பெற வேண்டிய ஒன்று இல்லை. வெறுப்பும் இல்லை. எனவே அவரது இயல்பு பூரண சுத்தம், உண்மை, எங்கும் நிறைந்திருத்தல், பேரின்பம். இங்கு சுத்த சிவானந்த சபை ஆன்மாவின் மிகத் தூய அகநிலையாகவும் விளக்கப்படுகிறது;
Detailed English Meaning:
This stanza describes what
God is completely free from: bondage, limiting attributes, birth, death,
change, impurity, evil, desire and aversion. Desire ordinarily arises because
something is lacking. The Perfect Divine lacks nothing and therefore needs to
acquire nothing. His nature is absolute purity, truth, all-pervasiveness and
bliss.

அவர் உருவமற்றவர் என்று மட்டும் சொன்னாலும் அது முழுமையில்லை; ஏனெனில் உருவங்களிலும் அவர் வெளிப்படுகிறார். உருவம் உடையவர் என்றாலும் முழுமையில்லை; ஏனெனில் எந்த உருவத்தையும் கடந்தவர். “எல்லாம் இறைவன்” என்று சொன்னாலும் ஒரு விளக்கம்; “இறைவன் எல்லாவற்றையும் கடந்தவர்” என்பதும் இன்னொரு விளக்கம். வள்ளலார் இரண்டையும் இணைக்கிறார்: அவர் அனைத்திலும் உள்ளார்;
Detailed English Meaning:
The final stanza removes
every conceptual boundary we might impose upon God. The Divine transcends: one
and many, form and formlessness, inside and outside, existence as a particular
object and non-existence, past, present and future.
To say that God is only
formless would be incomplete because He also manifests through forms. To say
that God is only in forms would also be incomplete because He transcends every
form.
Similarly, “everything is
God” does not mean that one individual object is the whole of God. Rather: God
is present in everything,
yet nothing can contain the totality of God. He has no beginning and no
end. He shines as the limitless Arum-Perum-Jothi — the rare, immeasurable
Great Light. Beyond every distinction, He remains the One Unique Divine
Reality in Chitrambalam.
